What works for me is 4 straps.
Axle to trailer.
Straight in front, crossed in back.

This trail is kinda hard for someone out with us the first time.

Is it typically an overnighter? In an effort to keep my trips up and back to VT to a minimum, we do an E4W ride one day and another club from the Region the other.
