Re: fuel consumption

Wayne, Its not that hard to move the tank up into the rear area behind the seats and not encroach on passenger area providing that you have one of the aftermarket rectangular tanks from Jegs or a custom like mine. 12 gallons is the total for both of these. You will however reduce storage space and r...

Re: Tekoa Mtn is burning again

Owned by a paper company I believe. Nice place to run but certainly not extreme. It ends high on a ridge where you can break for lunch with a wonderful view. shame it was closed down. i dont recall why.

Re: fuel consumption

Currently its looking too expensive for teh benefit to bother. At least this will give me a year of wheeling to test how much fuel I actually use. Then I will build a different custom tank.

Re: fuel consumption

Yes. I have certainly experienced such but I am not sure even then that one will actually use more than say 5 gallons for the day. If that is correct, an 8 gallon tank provides a reserve over usage of 60 percent and should be sufficient. If we use more than that all bets are off. I know I have never...

fuel consumption

Has anyone thought about how much fuel is used on an average wheeling day? I am considering cutting hte bottom off my fuel tank to result in an 8 gallon tank that does not hang below the rear cross member. I dont think I have ever put more than 5 gallons in the tank after a run and I know the tank i...

Re: WHo has what for welders?

MM175 here. I have had it for about 5 years. Works very well although I would like more dutyh cycle. It is 30% whereas the 210 at the time was 60%. I would also like to easily burn more than 1/4 inch. Mine will do it with preheating but it'd be nice if I didnt need to. When I get a TIG machine I wil...

Re: Tow Strap Configuration

Chains are more difficult to use but are far more durable than straps. A strap inadvertently run over something sharp will be cut in an instant. COnsider how quickly a strap is cut when run through the from tube of a YJ frame. Further, straps have a working load limit of about 3333 (most brands) whe...

Re: KOH

I think Clayton was racing, did you see any of him? Yes, Clayton started the race. His Co-driver was Jim Lambert. Jim's seat was on top of the battery and bounced him on the battery until he could not feel his legs. He got out and Clayton continued for a while. I understand the the airshocks gave u...

Re: KOH

It is awesome. I recommend it for anyone interested. If a few people get together its not all that expensive. Split five ways, the trip costs for each individual was about $600 if you ignore the extra crap one wants to buy like t'shirts and other swag type crap you really dont need. Of course all be...
